Regarding B2: I think unit 10 is only the first unit on the way to get to B2 and there will probably be some more units in the future to actually get there. On Doulingo schools they show the target CEFR levels of the different units from courses that are already CEFR aligned. So at the end of the tree you might be missing even some A1 content but also know some B1 content. Of course there is way too few content in these 3 units to actually learn how to use all times and moods correctly and many words, phrases and concepts, even pretty basic ones, are missing completely. It has only 3 units, but they are much longer than the units of the Spanish from English tree, and they also tried to pack most of the Spanish grammar into these 3 units, the last skill even contains some past subjunctive which is only introduced in unit 9 of the other tree. For example, before doing the Spanish from English course I've completed the Spanish from German tree which is not CEFR aligned yet. Most of the shorter courses are just not CEFR aligned at all, so you can't really match a level. Interesting work, but I don't think it's that easy. (if any of this information is outdated, please let me know, as I know they have been making a lot of changes to courses lately.) That being said, if there is anyone out there like me who is interested in this new direction Duolingo is taking their courses and curious how it correlates to a language you are considering, the list below is the information I gathered a couple weeks ago, around the beginning of October 2021. At the end of the day, the only real way to accurately gage your fluency would be to, of course, take a CEFR test and get a result. I am not making any claims here, just providing information regarding how many Units each course has and categorizing them by values Duolingo has stated roughly equate to these values. This is because, supposedly, these should correspond to their respective CEFR levels. A listing of all available and in-development courses can be found at the Incubator. 1 Some of these courses are also a result of a partnership between Duolingo and organizations such as the Peace Corps 2. I have split them up into five groups (10) (8-9) (5-7) (3-4) (1-2). Duolingo's language courses are created and maintained in the Incubator by volunteers and language experts with the assistance of staff. I took it upon myself to go through and start every language (fron English plus Catalan and Guarani from Spanish) and make note of hoe many units each course had. It's 100 free, fun, and scientifically proven to work. There is this cool resource which gives details pertaining to the specifics on how many lessons, crowns, skills, exc every course has, but I have found it hard to find anything relating to how many units each course has. Practice online on or on the apps Learn languages by playing a game. Luis von Ahn, Duolingo CEO said at Duocon this year 2021.) He mentioned something regarding 5 units being roughly equivalent of an A2 level, with some tests done that have backed up their claim, or something of the matter. (I got this information from something Dr. So, I have been kind of interested in Duolingo's push to eventually get their users to a B2 level on the CEFR reguardless of which course it is.
