She really enjoyed fixing meals and helping with the food pantry. They did that for 12 years, from all the paperwork to weed eating and trimming trees! Mary always helped at church. She served on the Lacoba Board for 9 years, and everyone knew how devoted her and Tom were to Spring River Cemetery. In everything Mary did, she gave her all. everyone loved "Granny Mary." She loved her Lord, she loved her family and she loved her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mabel Hellwig one brother, Ron Hellwig and one grand daughter. Survivors include her husband, Tom of 37 years three sons, James Barsotti of Verona, Mike (Holly) Knight of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Max White of Springfield, Missouri two daughters, Chris (Matt) Losack of Verona and Tammy (Gary) McCoy of Miller one sister, Carol (Bob) Green of Fort Myers, Florida 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was born in Des Plaines, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Mabel "Tackmann" Hellwig. Marilyn "Mary" Knight, age 84 of Verona, Missouri passed away Sunday, Octoat her home. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 22nd from 2-4 PM at the Funeral Home.Īrrangements are under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Maple Park Cemetery. Lynda is survived by her Children, Grandchildren, Brothers, and Sisters. Those included 13 Grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She doted on them, babysat them, and watched countless Ball Games, Band Competitions, Cheer Events, and many other activities they participated in. Lynda’s light in her life was her Kids and Grandbabies. Cheryl and Frank Adamson- Fort Scott KS, Donna and Randy Harris of Marionville and Nate and Anne Cook of Verona. She was the Proud Mother of 2 Daughters and 1 Son. Lynda enjoyed every sport she could watch but loved her K.C. Lynda also enjoyed time with her Bowling league time and Rockin A Saddle Club, The Women's Auxiliary at the VFW, and the CB Club. While at Treasure Lake she and her family spent time camping, fishing, and making many unforgettable memories. Lynda worked for Juvenile Shoe Company for 32 years then later worked and volunteered at Treasure Lake Resort for several years. She was a resident of Wheelerville, Missouri most of her life, later Resident in Fort Scott, Kansas. She graduated from Aurora High School where she was a member of the Marching Band. They had 3 children and 45 years of Marriage before he started their life in eternity. She was united in Marriage to Nathanael Reed Cook Sr. She was born November 13, 1940, in Miller Mo, the Daughter of Frances Marion and Alma Marie Woody. Lynda Mae Cook, 82, of Wheelerville, Missouri was called home on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Freeman Hospital after a long illness.
